Mr. York is an Executive Vice President of Stern Brothers Valuation Advisors and has been involved in the areas of auditing, finance, and business valuation since 1976. He began his career in auditing with PricewaterhouseCoopers and joined Stern Brothers in 2005. Prior to 2005, he worked in various capacities including Controller or Chief Financial Officer with ESOT Resources, Inc., Recovery Management Corp., Darling Envelope, Corp., House of Lloyd, Inc., Coldwell Banker Residential R.E., Calmar, Inc., and Cabot Corporation. He has been involved in a consulting practice in charge of financial forecasting and debt structure design for employee stock ownership plan implementation.

Credentials
Mr. York has achieved some of the highest professional designations awarded in the business valuation profession. He is a Licensed Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”), in the state of Missouri and is Accredited in Business Valuation (“ABV”), Certified in Entity and Intangible Valuations (“CEIV”) by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants which requires training in business valuation. He has completed the Accredited Senior Appraiser (“ASA”) and Certified Business Appraiser (“CBA”) designations that require extensive training, knowledge, and experience involving business valuations. Mr. York has a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Missouri and an M.B.A. with a specialization in Finance from Northern Illinois University.
Experience
Mr. York serves on the Board of Directors of the Missouri United Methodist Foundation and has served on the Board of Directors of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is the past President of the American Society of Appraisers in Kansas City and past President of the Kansas City Chapter of the Missouri Society of CPA’s. Mr. York is the past Chairman of Friends of Scouting for the Thunderbird District of the Heart of America Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. York is a member of numerous professional and civic organizations and associations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Missouri Society of CPA’s, the American Society of Appraisers, and The Institute of Business Appraisers, Inc. (IBA). He is a member of the AICPA Employee Stock Ownership Plan Valuation Whitepaper Taskforce and a past member of the Professional Responsibility Board of the IBA.
Mr. York has lectured frequently on valuation issues to groups such as the AICPA, Missouri Society of CPA’s, The ESOP Association, The Alliance of Merger and Acquisition Advisors, the University of Kansas School of Accountancy, UMKC Bloch School of Business, Truman State Beta Alpha Psi and at seminars across the United States. He has appeared numerous times in court as an expert witness concerning valuation issues.
